N-Bromosuccinimide or NBS is a chemical reagent which is used in radical substitution and electrophilic addition reactions in organic chemistry. NBS can be considered a convenient source of cationic bromine.
N-bromosuccinimide is white to light yellow crystalline powder with light bromine odor,Pure N-bromosuccinimide is white, but it is often found to be off-white or brown colored by bromine. It can be used in radical substitution and electrophilic addition reactions in organic chemistry. It also can be used in processing of Ethanone, 1-(4-methylphenyl)-, O-(trimethylsilyl) and 4(3H)-Quinazolinone, 7-bromo-6-chloro-3-[3-[(2S,3R)-3-hydroxy-2-piperidinyl]-2-oxopropyl]- .
