February 12, 2010 - According to researchers at in the United Kingdom, consumption of over 500mg of caffeine - or approximately five cups of coffee may slow the growth of the brain cancer - namely, glioblastomas - which are typically fatal.

Yet another reason to drink more coffee!

February 1, 2010 - There are large number of studies both in vitro and in vivo  that have demonstrated the beneficial effects of diets rich in fruits, vegetables and beverages. These positive effects are attributed in part to Phenolic compounds.

Phenolic compounds make up a major portion of compounds in plants, especially in their seeds and green leaves, in an effort to  protect them from oxidative damage through their antioxidant activity. Now, its believed that these benefits can be extended to humans as well...

Well, the new year looks good for coffee as studies continue to promote coffee's health benefits. Over the past ten years numerous researchers from all over the world have touted coffee's health benefits. A few studies have suggested that coffee may even prevent Alzheimers disease, diabetes, colon cancer, and numerous other ailments.

 

We are still in the early stages of confirming many of these studies, but if things continue, it looks like coffee may is poised for even greater consumption...yay!!

December 11, 2009 - You may want to pass on that Vodka/Red Bull cocktail the next time your at the bar....and trying to get sober by drinking coffee after a long night partying, well - that may actually be doing you more harm than good.

According to researchers at Temple University in Pennsylvania, the combination of caffeine and alcohol may actually decrease cognitive and reflex skills. The FDA is currently looking into the validity of this study and reconsider allowing the addition of caffeine to alcohol based drinks.
